- The schedule of changing, feeding and napping should be kept the same. If you change any one, you can change the rest also in the similar fashion without having to remember any.
- It will be quite helpful if you color-code the things. The color of bottles, blankets, clothes, pacifiers etc of your twins should be different. If one baby doesn't finish his/her bottle, it will be easier for you to make out who that child was. Color coding also makes things easy for family, day-care providers, friends etc. They can easily tell your babies apart. This will also aid the parents when years later they look back at the pictures of their babies. They will be able to easily make out who was who.
- Record bowel movements, changing times, feeding amounts etc. of the twins on a chart. This will be helpful when you are required to administer vitamins or medications to them. While taking care of twins, losing your short term memory for such things is easy.
- Involve your older siblings. This will provide you some extra hands and the older siblings will also not feel left out. Your older girls may act like second mother to the new born twins.
- Whenever offered for help, accept it. Ask for help if it is not offered. If a friend comes over to your house to visit the babies, you can ask them to take care of the babies for a while. This will offer you some time for yourself and you can utilize that time to take quick walk or a nap. Drop the babies off to the house of your relative so that you can have a refreshing date night. Devoting some time to yourself or with your spouse will help in refreshing your body and mind. This will also offer you the energy to welcome another day of bottles and diapers.
- Above all, do not forget to smile. If you feel stressed out or overwhelmed, do not feel shy to ask for help. You are required to take care of yourself so that you can efficiently take Care of Babies. So do not miss out to laugh often, love much, live well and have fun with the babies.
